Top 3 Dog Beaches near Tampa, FL!
/Hi there!
Are you looking for an adventure with your furry friend? Be sure to check out these pup friendly locations!
1. Fort De Soto Dog Beach
With dogs being allowed off leash, this park is sure to take the number one spot! Fort De Soto Park has two fenced in dog parks, one for small dogs and one for big dogs, which include showers to cool your dog off on hot days. The park also features a Paw Playground where dogs are allowed to run around on the beach LEASH FREE! Does it get any better than that? There are plenty of fun features for human folk too, including a Spanish Fort to roam around, camping spots, beautiful sunset views, and much more. Fort De Soto Beach is the PURR-fect place to spend the day!
2. Honeymoon Island State Park Dog Beach
Honeymoon Island State Park features a beautiful, secluded dog beach! Be prepared to get in a bit of exercise as there is quite a walk to get out to the beach, but trust us, it's worth it. The beautiful beach is clean and very well kept. There are locations all around with doggie bags and trash cans to make clean-up a breeze! The only downfall is, your dogs must be on a leash at all times.
3. Picnic Island Dog Beach Park
This park is leash-free which we love, but there are a few downfalls bringing it in at number 3! We love the fact that it is partially fenced, allowing some relief with your dog being off leash. To cool off on a hot summer day, your pup can take a stop at the drinking fountain or rinse off station. The main downfall is that often times it is dirty. We've heard complaints of sharp rocks and the smell of dead fish as well so make sure you are on the look out for your furry friends!
When traveling, it is important to always make sure your dog is hydrated. The Sippy Pup is a non-spill water and food bowl for pets that is great for at home and travel. We hope you all enjoy your beach day!
